As temperatures dropped significantly, we visited the site at Biebrza National Park to retrieve our automated systems. We encountered beautiful landscape with frozen floodplain including Biebrza river. We managed to retrieve three chambers from underneath the ice, working tiredlesly by breaking the ice.  It has been exhausting but beautiful day during which we successfully collected our measurement devices. Now, we are eagerly waiting for the spring flood to redeploy our automated chambers  in the field and measure flood-related GHG emissions from river-floodplains.
