Jessica, a PhD student conducting her research within the framework of the FluxFlood project, just embarked on an exciting research trip to Ecuador! She’ll be measuring CH4 and CO2 emissions from the Tiputini River floodplain – an Amazon basin ecosystem – including connected and disconnected lakes. She’ll be there during the shoulder season, when water levels shift dramatically. Even though it’s a very different system from our temperate Biebrza floodplain, we’re eager to see whether hydrology is also the key driver there. We can’t wait to see results of this research survey!
