Taking the Next Step in Measuring Greenhouse Gas Exchange
Last week, the FLUXFLOOD team had the opportunity to participate in an inspiring and highly informative Eddy Covariance training organized by LI-COR.
During the course, we learned about the principles of the eddy covariance method, the different analyzers used to measure greenhouse gas emissions across a wide range of ecosystems, and the practical aspects of setting up and operating an eddy covariance tower. We also gained valuable insights into common pitfalls, best practices for field deployment, and data processing techniques that are essential for obtaining high-quality measurements.
The training was a real eye-opener and gave us a much deeper understanding of this powerful micrometeorological method. It also provided a great opportunity to connect with researchers and professionals working in the field.
A big thank you to the LI-COR team for delivering such a professional, engaging, and well-organized course. We are excited to apply this knowledge in our future research, as eddy covariance opens new possibilities for studying greenhouse gas exchange in river–floodplain systems.
We look forward to taking the next steps on this exciting journey!
